About Ryland S. Wakeley

A photo of ryland s. wakeley Ryland, prior to forming Stone Rose Video Productions had already established himself extensively within the film and video production community of Chicago. While attending Columbia College of Chicago for Television Production, Ryland began working for Worth Family Mental Health Agency in 1978, heading up their video department, responsible for all aspects videotaping and training of employees.

Ryland then began working free lance for many of the larger film production houses in Chicago as a production assistant, production coordinator and assistant director on over 70 national and local Television commercials. Simultaneously Ryland was also working as a free lance Videographer involved with many aspects of video production from documentaries, band videos, industrial product development, day in the life videos and over 700 weddings, christenings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties, sporting events, how to videos and numerous other events.

Then in June of 1984 Ryland graduated, with honors, from Columbia College, with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications majoring in Television Production.

Starting in October of 1991 Ryland took on what has become his most challenging job to date, becoming a full time at home dad for his beautiful daughter Geena and then Dana. As Ryland has been heard to say many times, being home full time is the hardest job, bar none, that any one could ever do. With out question this is the most important and rewarding job a person can do in life.

All the while Ryland still continued to run his business on a much abbreviated schedule. Now that his wonderful daughters are in high school and college respectively, he continues to expand Stone Rose Video, which has prospered for the last 26 years.
